Director of Global Talent Development
Stacey Porter brings more than 15 years of leadership development and organizational learning experience in the technology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries. In process of completing her doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology, and holding a master’s in clinical social work, Porter possesses a unique combination of practical business experience and management consulting skill with an academician’s domain knowledge and expertise.
Porter has held past leadership roles in global talent development and talent strategy at Roche Pharmaceuticals and VMware, and is currently the Director of Global Talent Development at Intuitive Surgical, the pioneering medical device company that has made robotic assisted surgery a reality. In this position, she works internally as an organizational design expert, architect of talent practices and leadership development programs, and as a performance coach for teams.
Prior to her corporate work, Porter was a management consultant partnering with academic institutions, nonprofit organizations and large healthcare management companies on a range of organizational development initiatives, including compensation design, competency development and survey design and assessment.
Porter is a professional member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and has worked as an advisory board member at Stanford University in the business school and at University of California, Berkeley as a corporate partner for the UC Berkeley Center for Executive Education. She is often asked to speak on leadership development in OD professional organizations including the Bay Area Organizational Learning and Development society, and teaches regularly at Genentech in their leadership development program, Odyssey. Stacey is currently an advisor for Zugata, an app-based feedback tool.
